Eddie Maddox, Ph.D. was born on March 6, 1964 and raised in a small southern town. He has an undergraduate degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Western Carolina University, a Masters of Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University, and a Doctorate in Organization and Management from Capella University. Dr. Maddox has worked in the manufacturing sector for over 34 years in many key positions. These positions are as follows: Manufacturing Engineer, Product Engineer, Application Engineer, Manufacturing Supervisor, Engineering Manager, Quality Manager, and Operations Manager. He has held these positions at Ingersoll Rand (Torrington) and Timken. He also has taught on the college level at many Universities. He has received many awards and honors. He was an All-State High School football player. He was an Academic All American 1st team Football player on the college level. He also was a Magna Cum Laude graduate. He is married with two children. They have a son and a daughter. Their son and his wife have a daughter.
Dr. Maddox is involved with events through the Church, non-profit community organizations, and local school activities that are geared towards helping people learn the tools that are required to be successful. He works with youths and adults. He is inspired to help make our society a better place for all people. It is people that make our society run well.
He has co-authored a book on Supply Chain Management. He recently authored a book on How to Beat the Odds. The vision for this book is to help others become successful. This book is about the life of an African American male that lived in poverty as a child, yet moved to the top one percent wage earners in America as an adult. This young man defied the odds to become a successful, family-centered man that teaches others to be successful regardless of their background, age, religion, race, or ethnicity. He started out in the head start program and worked to achieve his Ph.D. He utilized football to help him to become a first generation college graduate in his family. He worked through many challenges as he embarked on this journey and he shows what allowed him to achieve this high level of success. The factors that he used on the journey to success were God, family, friends, budgeting, determination, and a mentality to fight through challenges and never give up. Everyone can control their own destiny but it will not be easy. It will be challenging along this long and intense journey. NEVER GIVE UP!!!! Regardless of where you start in life, you can BEAT THE ODDS and become successful.
